Are you going to sleep or do you want to engage in a discussion about Signal? ?
Well, I actually hate some points about Signal (more about Signal's team). I think we'll talk about it tomorrow? ?

I wish I could stop using WhatsApp
My roommate from India says that everyone there uses it.

I started using Telegram originally because it seemed secure but also that it was open source (client) and even more so multi-platform.

Maybe the Desktop app for Linux is what won me over :P

If it were between WhatsApp and Telegram, I would always chose Telegram.. I personally don't trust WhatsApp..

Abd after all the encryption chat, I'm surprised how little people talked about metadata

WhatsApp's privacy policy clearly states that it will share data with the Facebook family

Telegram's privacy policy is more friendly to me here

Also with Signal, the amount of metadata collected is minimal

There is no messaging app which is 100% secure, but when it comes to WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal, I'd chose Telegram and Signal..

That people use when they want to share their credit card pin
Share a PIN is always horrible idea, no matter what kind of communication media you're using.

Yes, they do. Because they do know that someday encryption will be mandatory.
Some day. But not now. And they make money every day. And they NEED to make money every day because otherwise their company benefits will plunge. Something that will happen somewhere in the future it's not high priority.

Average Joe doesn't care about encryption
I think that this is not completely true. Most of people does care about privacy and encryption, that's why WhatsApp make such a fuss about it. But they *don't have the knowledge* or mindset to find out if that encryption is actually working or not. And if it's working, what it really means.

They have an enormous market share. They don't need to innovate, yet.
Exactly! There are thousands of people every day complaining about how crappy Facebook is. Do they leave Facebook? NO. And they won't in the near future. Why? Because everyone else is there. So if you need to make business or keep in touch with a lot of people, you have to be there. And they know it. They know they have the lion's part and people will keep using their service no matter how much they complain. Only if people started to go away and use another social media they would care. But does that social media exist? One that is like Facebook but works well?

@pionen Sysadmins of the world, unite... Love it. And love his scarf, it's exactly like mine! LOL Thanks for the video, I'll watch it later.

You could send files and do a lot of things from their website. It's their app what is always running behind and many times it doesn't even work properly. Just saying.

I don't know what to reply to this.

TBH, I don't really use it. When there is no other way and I REALLY need to communicate with a specific person, I install WhatsApp, exchange the messages and delete it for good again. And all the folders and stuff related to it. I'm really minute wiping things from my phone, hehe.

Under the hood, community is one of the biggest parts of Fedora, along with the Four Foundations (Freedom, Friends, Features, First). Even if Fedora were to exponentially grow suddenly, I think the things under the hood wouldn't change.
