At least there's btrfs on ReactOS already and Linux file ownership and modes shouldn't be an issue. They had to change major things in NTFS to support Linux trees.
Most of the work was done ages ago for POSIX.1 support

Silicon Macs are different from previous Intel models, in that the whole of the boot process is owned by Apple. They don't have UEFI, but have Secure Boot designed into them from the start.

There's a port of KDE to Windows, it might run. You can alter the shell the same way as you do on Windows (default is explorer.exe)

Well, first you must check if your app to test is compatible with windows versions prior to Vista
