When would we use data type prefix such as h for HANDLE and dw for DWORD when naming variables?
For example in kernel32.CreateFileW implementation there are https://doxygen.reactos.org/dd/d83/dll_2win32_2kernel32_2client_2file_2create_8c_source.html#l00060 variables that use prefix and also there are vars that doesn't use prefix.
\Device\NUL
Yeah, Win32 Naming Convention is clear naming but I don't know when to use prefix and when not using prefix.
\Device\NUL
But in NtWriteFile file handle parameter doesn't have h prefix FileHandle while in WriteFile it's named hFile
\Device\NUL
Does when working in Native API such as prefix naming is avoided?
\Device\NUL
Okay, thank you for spending time answering my question
\Device\NUL
Simple naming is like a sin to me when programming using WinAPI :P
\Device\NUL
I'm not typical guy that naming stuffs based on my styles. You don't use hungarian notation with POSIX API don't you
\Device\NUL
Heh 😗, but I did found senior Windows dev that using simple naming when using Win32 API

Спустя всего-то 23 года корпорация Microsoft наконец-то добавила нативную поддержку разархиватора winRAR🗄 в Windows 🤪
Теперь ReactOS точно никогда не догнать Windows 😈
Alejandro Jeditobe
lets incorporate unRAR into reactOS
