Because that VPN I only use for Telegram and IRC.
But IRC doesn't count.
Mostly when using public wifi.

Whats Is interface based?
librenms is php based with a python-based multithreaded poller and rrd as databse, using rrdtool to display them
if you rather want no php take a look at zabbix
https://www.zabbix.com/
both free as in free speech and beer

(LibreNMS is a fork of observium, providing all the features opservium closed down to paid users - also, observium does svn-based half-yearly updates, librenms can be set to follow git stable branch and have a daily updatescript take care of updating it)
(So, please avoid observium if not for having no monthly or "as fast as possible" free community update system then for locking down stuff like cisco analytics via snmp to paid.)

Heck, i should give you a vm with public ip4 on my machine sometime :3
I'd give it to more poeple since the machine has tons of resources free
but each ip is 12bucks a year
and i can only have 6

I start them from my workstation for few hours when I need them. My server is not very powerful to run both them and MS SQL.
I use VM to run Windows Server with 1C:Enterprise and need low latency to use it's GUI.
