America likes to do a lot of its own things. Time, measurement units, temperature… makes it hard to understand measurements that anyone else in the world uses. ?

In some conversion tables. It's like US gallon and Imperial gallon, something like that. Maybe it's an old measure and nobody use it anymore.

When on top of that they measure stuff in cups and spoons, I just give up.

But I often kept trying because the recipe was too delicious to ignore it. But yeah, it can be hard.
