you could check the rts and rtsx driver versions, maybe as the Readme says, rtsx driver is not compatible with your card reader and it has not been resolved since rstx implantation in 3.16 kernel

then, return to the rts drivers provided in that project would solve your issue

guys i had fedora 25 installed on my laptop and i had to install windows along it for work. Now the laptop boots to windows as default and i can access fedora through boot menu but that makes me press f12 every time since i mostly use fedora. I think we told you before installing windows will fuck your boot record, boot into fedora and if you use UEFI for booting it: grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg

This should reinstall grub as default boot manager, at worst you may have to adjust settings in your bios

What program exactly did you need it for? In most cases you can install it in a windows vm just fine and your work can't require you to load shit on your pc.

Again, try to install it all in a vm with virt-manager and remove the windows install.

try once with dnf update --best --allowerasing -y

Else i'd suggest this more to be a wayland/gnome problem than kernel but journalctl/dmesg can tell oyu more after it has crashed - you can try if maybe just gnome got stuck by ctrl+alt+f3 to go to commandline.

You can try, even if your mouse appears stuck it may just be Gnome and not your kernel.

with ctrl-alt-f3 you can switch to a gui-less terminal that will still work if it was just gnome.

try once with dnf update --best --allowerasing -y

--best will enforce the latest available version and —allowerasing will tell dnf to throw out any packages that cant be updated anymore because their relations dont match (like cockpit has thrown out cockpit-shell and integrated it in newer versions - without the switch cockpit will be stuck on an older version for you.)

Because it cant upgrade cockpit-shell to match cockpits version because it is now inside cockpit by default and all.

I only run updates this way because dnf doesnt care to tell you that stuff like this happened and you are now stuck on an old version for x because x-y isnt available in a newer package
