I don't understand why people in the FLOSS community complaint about Mac Users. I have never seen a Mac user trying to fix or configuring the OS to make work something.

I had good experience with HP until they acquired Compaq. I had bad experience with sony in the past and now they are better. I had good experience with toshiba and then turned bad. My limited experience with lenovo is good. Past experience with Dell is good, but now a lots of acquaintances are complaining about Dell, and I haven't got any dell recently.

As a Toshiba user, I'm pushing three years with this Satellite C55-A. It was super cheap, but I've bumped the RAM up to 16GB, changed the HDD to a SDD, and upgraded the battery. I think I have another two years left, or at least, until this i3 chip dies. I think Toshiba is great, but you will have to upgrade if you want to extend the life of it (but it wasn't that expensive for me).

3 years doesn't seem very remarkable, though, to be honest. I mean, it's the bare minimum I'd expect from any company...

5 it starts getting interesting, and more than 8 is an amazingly well built laptop.

I think if I had paid more for a better chip, I could push more life out of it easily. But I was still in high school when I purchased this laptop and it wasn't with my own wallet. :P
