does anyone know if the freebsd (oss) audio configuration could work on linux?

Partly. AFAIK LFS and Arch will let you use pure OSS the same way as FreeBSD.

More or less
It doesn't matter. I have one old notebook (about 12 years) and it runs 11.3. Good to say, it is no sprinter. But works, in a way.
Francisco Mondragon
Ok, because i try a lot ways and nothing

freebsd audio is too much better than linux, unless linux kernel has improve a lot this last year, I prefer FreeBSD. Hell yeah!
TheWhyteCrow
oh it matters if you don't know how to fix everything........😄
No. It is all the same, if we are talking about computers not older than 25 years. If it is not PowerPC|Motorola Mac or other rarity...😁
TheWhyteCrow
The mother board is an asrock
It still says nothing about the sound chip...

Guys how can make wifi modules work in freebsd? I have problems with running my intel wifi card in freebsd
Arsalan
I red some documents about it but why it's not automatically support intel cards
TheWhyteCrow
Not a module. License. I don't remember more than that it is one line in loader.conf.

Hm, anyone an idea what I could try? rm -rf /var/cache/pkg didn't help
Arminio
@TheWhyteCrow Not exactly what you suggested, but googling for it lead me to "pkg update -f", which worked, thanks.
TheWhyteCrow
When you 'force' things to be done, you will not find out what happened wrong. Which can lead to worse problems next time.
TheWhyteCrow
I know it, I had one. Intel cards have their proprietary firmware. All the iwi and iwlw drivers for Intel PRO. And it must be installed and its license agreed. I'll take a look.
TheWhyteCrow
ipw(4) https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=ipw&sektion=4
TheWhyteCrow
Obviously not intel chipset. .😁
TheWhyteCrow
legal.intel_ipw.license_ack=1 in loader.conf does the trick

Thanks for pointing out that Cliqz exist. I will give it a try. My philosophy lead me to BSD, and this seems to be next step. Seznam.cz has great search engine, but their browser is based on Firefox.
