<b>aaron:</b> VMS (Telegram): It’s /dev/device root name. You can use the raw device name if you really want, but that’s not required.

Quillasp: I tried OpenBSD on a spare laptop, but sadly, was not really convinced (even though I liked the fact that X11 was already configured and worked ootb). But that's maybe because I'm still a total beginner in the *BSD world.

what you disagree?
try freebsd if you want a desktop
i can't recommend netbsd or openbsd as a desktop os
are good tools, but his focus isn't be a desktop
freebsd focus on general things, so it's more able to be a desktop
you have a lot of stuff here, kde, xfce, chromium, ff viewnior, gimp, blender
u have a lot of games too
and emulators
most of packages you can find on linux are on bsd

openbsd has chromium too
netbsd nope
but there is ff anyway
so what you don't like from openbsd?
it has a easy installation
i guess it's the easiest install of 3 main bsd
fvwm sucks, i know xD but you have cwm in openbsd

i'm doing my firsts steps with xlib
well, i'm just copying code
and i'm copying it wrong xDDD
this is the example I am using
http://slist.lilotux.net/linux/xlib/draw-pixmap.c
and this is my shit code
xD
to compile well an Xlib code, you can use pkg-config to know the flags u must set
pkg-config --cflags --libs x11
with netbsd u must set -R flag too

i'm happy anyway
the code don't work {the example works, not my shit code} but i guess i'm near to show an image
but the image must be made with a specific format
