there is some annoying bug in FreeBSD (at least) with filesystem notifications. you can see it in nodejs or python (flask for example) programs not reacting correctly on file events

I'm now using Tracktion and some free synths & packs like Helm

MIDI is just straight audio data with no compression, and not really anything encapsulating it, right?
