The minimal configuration for a NetBSD/i386 system requires 4M of RAM and about 40M of disk space. For a full installation (including source and X11), at least 8M of RAM and 200M of disk space are recommended.

Netbsd is a good choice
It's powerful without needing shit
I can't understand how they did that
And you can make a live iso of netbsd with the build.sh
I want try it and add some packages to see what happens
iso-image Create a NetBSD installation CD-ROM image in the RELEASEDIR/images directory. The CD-ROM file system will
have a layout as described in release(7).
https://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/src/BUILDING
live-image Create NetBSD live images in the RELEASEDIR/images directory. The live image contains all necessary files to boot NetBSD up to multi-user mode, including all files which should be extracted during installation, NetBSD disklabel, bootloaders, etc.
