Go make alternative shells if you want nutty start menus or whatever.
Chungy
Indeed
Chungy
KDE has a native non-Cygwin Windows port, including shell replacement.
Chungy
Regedit, shell entry is somewhere.
Chungy
I heard Windows 10 removed the ability to load an alternative shell. Dunno if true. I never ran W10

Chungy
Regedit, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Add string value named "shell", set the value to some exe. Maybe reactOS's explorer :P
Chungy
Log out, log in
Anas
If I'm ever using windows 10 again, it's gonna be LTSC
Anas
I don't like this thing updating and don't constantly breaking my apps and devices
Anas
GTA San Andreas didn't work for me on 21h1 🤦‍♂️
Anas
Man I really wish ReactOS is daily drivable sooner, through some miracle or something
Chungy
When Wine has better legacy game compatibility than Windows...
Anas
DirectPlay? The one you have to manually enable in the programs and features?
Anas
Damn
Anas
When Wine has better legacy game compatibility than Windows...
Dude I love wine now, I'm running Linux mint on an old laptop and wine is perfect
Chungy
Could maybe try copying Wine's DLL.
Anas
Except for one thing, and that is that I can't figure out how to make a desktop shortcut for exe files, but it automatically creates shortcuts if you enabled making a shortcut in the installer during installation of said windows app or game
Anas
Wait what
Anas
I didn't know that
Anas
How do I get it?
Chungy
Dude I love wine now, I'm running Linux mint on an old laptop and wine is perfect
Also look into installing dxvk, if you're not running Proton (which already has it) Translates Direct3D 9-11 into Vulkan. Way faster and more compatible than the normal OpenGL translation layer.
Chungy
How do I know if that is installed?
If you didn't install it, you probably don't have it
Anas
Um, I am not that advanced
Chungy
https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk
Anas
If you didn't install it, you probably don't have it
I installed wine through the software manager
Anas
That's about it
Chungy
Yeah, dxvk comes separate.
Chungy
Valve uses it as part of the Wine integrated into Steam (they call it Proton)
Anas
Oh and I went into synaptic package manager or something and clicked install on everything that says "wine" on it
Anas
That's Linux with ReactOS explorer?
Anas
What's a cpl?
Chungy
Go hard mode and make it your WM
Anas
Oh
Chungy
Wine already has a bunch of CPLs (they're just EXEs with a different extension... A lot of Windows things are like that). Most of them aren't as functional as the Windows equivalent, you're not expected to manage hardware stuff through Wine xD
Chungy
Internet Settings for the IE configs. A basic uninstaller cpl exists
Julio
I trimmed the regtest between 0.4.11 works - 0.4.12 fails
Julio
Discarded ext2 issue
Julio
Damn this will take some time
Julio
0.4.12-dev-1000 bad
Julio
xD
Julio
I have a different method for regtesting instead the comm9n bisect
Julen
?
Julio
I test against the first build of each month
Julio
It's way faster than normal bisect
Julio
Because you can discard easily a lot of commits if a month is not affected
Julen
So semirandom criteria
Julio
And, when found the affected month I start by looking the 15th day
Julio
In 13 tests I am able to trim the guilty commit by a 15-day time span
Julio
2 more tests to reduce the time span to one week
Julio
Within this reduced span it's easy to find the suspected guilty revs
Julio
I've cut out my regresso to the 2nd middle of february 2019
Julio
😄
Julio
Good achievement for 3 hours of regtesting
Julio
Using normal bisect would take at least 3 whole days
Julio
Ok 3rd week of Feb 2019
Julio
7 suspect commits, tested 4th
Julio
Likely the guilty
Julio
Gotcha!
Julio
0.4.12-dev-749-bb9eec7
Julio
Wow, my regression was fixed just by changing the values to greater ones
Julio
But... these are non standard
Julio
We are failing at some point with these values
Julio
So this is an unhider
Anas
What is an unhider?
Julen
What is an unhider?
Some regressions or bugs are hidden but still are there. They used to be hidden with hacks or with some halfimplemented code, that when someone implements correctly the code, the bug appeared.
Anas
Oh
Julio
Does anybody have problems when compiling last rev with rosbe 2.2.0?
Julio
Or is just me?
Julen
Does anybody have problems when compiling last rev with rosbe 2.2.0?
Something has been updated since then. In 2.2.1 are changes (IDK how much important)
Julio
No, I don't think the problem is with RosBE, rather than with some code added to the repo
Julio
It's failing with some wine code in win32ss
Stas'M
cmake is not very perfect
Chungy
git clean -xfd for me :D
Stas'M
git doesn't touch output directories
Chungy
the command I just wrote will clear it.
