Since when did people started using /s?
Anas
I've never seen it before
Anas
Well I learned something today, thanks
Anas
Chungy
I'm guessing you're very young. You'll get used to text conventions eventually.
Anas
Oh
Anas
Anas
Is that too young?
Chungy
Now that's probably the most annoying zoomer thing ever xD
Anas
Oh
Chungy
I recognize it sure.
Chungy
I am a meat popsicle.

Imagine making a movie about ReactOS
Chungy
"I Can't Believe It's Not Windows!"
Anas
"So that's how windows dies, with thunderous applause" - Senator Padme Amidala
Anas
Hell yea
Anas
"I felt a disturbance in the force... as though if millions of windows installs cried out in terror... and then suddenly silenced" - Master Obi Wan Kenobi
Anas
Why would you need that when you can just dual boot Linux with ROS?
Chungy
ReactOS lxss running programs through Wine
Chungy
Would CoLinux work on ReactOS? I don't know if the thing is maintained anymore :P
Chungy
It was basically WSL2 done 20 years ago on Win2k and XP
Stas'M
Stas'M
right in this channel
Chungy
I either forgot or missed it. Lol
Stas'M
Anas
Oh, then maybe yea you need it
Chungy
Chungy
There you go then. No need for WSL2
Mike
Chungy
WSL1/LXSS would be a larger task
Anas
What is LXSS?
Anas
Oh
Chungy
What is LXSS?
The actual name of the Linux ABI subsystem behind the marketing name
Anas
So MS keeps making good things and doesn't finish or maintain them
Anas
Chungy
How's ReFS doing to replace NTFS?
Oh right. They removed the ability to format new volumes with it :B
Chungy
Mind that ReFS mostly shaped up to look like a poor man's btrfs... Which in turn is a poor man's ZFS.
Chungy

I've never trusted Microsoft and I never will. I've never been able to forgive them for the death of my 95 start menu
Chungy

Chungy
No

Chungy
That looks like KDE.

Windows 2000. All downhill afterward.

Xp and 2003 too
The defaults regressed compared to 2000. You mostly didn't need to tweak 2000 to have a good system.
hacker12455
at least one isn't dogshit
Chungy
That's how KDE has looked for 15 years or so
hacker12455
yeah
Chungy
Can't sell it as an upgrade if it doesn't look different, I guess.

hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): I wonder what OS the MS GUI designers use at home....

hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): keeping the 2k one --> look, we do that on ReactOS, and what we get are people "complaining" that it looks like shit/win9x...
Mike
At my brother's workplace they were dismissing and old notebook (pentium 3, windows me and redhat in dual boot). He was allowed to bring it home. It's easy. It plain does what you want
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): exactly as e.g. win2k.

hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): they instead just wanted to imitate the look of other OSes instead of having their real own.
Chungy
Chungy
Windows Vista and 7 were the only two versions that have the full option of classic, uxtheme, or dwm
Chungy
I like the Win2k look. I know many others do too. No real reason to get rid of it
Maybe as a default, but eh. The installer already asks to select a theme upfront :P
Chungy
Windows 12 will be a GNOME 3 clone :D
Anas
Guys I've switched to the classic theme in Windows 7
Anas
But its janky
Chungy
Windows 13 will copy AmigaOS 4
Anas
I mean I was watching a movie on VLC and dragged the window and noticed that it not smooth
Anas
It got smooth after I switched back to aero
Chungy
The power of ReactOS is that we aren't beholden to the whims of Microsoft. Those of us that like the Win2k theme are able to keep using it
Chungy
Also the XP-ish explorer is probably fine
