I installed rpm fusion and installed everything marked gstreamer on the software center, and then gstreamer-plugins* but I'm unable to play audio or video on my F25, any suggestions?
You can try "# dnf install gstreamer1-libav gstreamer1-plugins-ugly gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld gstreamer1-vaapi"

They have been repeadtly shown to be badly coded and deserve the shit they get, not to mention they have been used for a "download this file and your system will execute arbitrary commands" attacks.

And with firefox starting downloads before you even press accept drive-by infections were possible.

Tobias?

Oh, mpv is looking better and better now
mpv uses system codecs and ffmpeg, so no builtins. And while not 100% invulnerable it makes for a shitton less attack surface and comes with sane amounts of default codecs.

And it has the sexiest commandline interface of a media player i have ever seen mpv --loop --vid=no --shuffle ./ will play only sound of all files recursively in the current and all subdirs randomly mpv youtubelink will play the youtubelink if youtube-dl is installed, can be given youtube-dl options like format or max width/size

And more

All i wish for now in fedora is the ability to assign all media files to mpv - i have no idea how i could achieve setting that for all at once.

The software-center gives a no decoder found error....
Yes, that's a problem I faced many times. I installed all the codecs possible with DNF. But Gnome Software Centre still considers them "not installed" and if I try to install it fails.

Risk of... what?
https://arstechnica.com/security/2016/12/fedora-and-ubuntu-0days-show-that-hacking-desktop-linux-is-now-a-thing/

driveby download attacks that can take over the full system

by visiting a website

works on all browsers (umatrix, as always, can protect but is a ton of work)

As people complained that this put fedora in a pretty negative light i think he made another, just as easy, file for ubuntu later on to show everyone was vulnerable XD

Sure this happened with FLIC in -good later too but making that one was, according to the developers, a pain in the ass and wasnt reliably executable because aslr and all

Have you tried gnome-mpv, vlc ? These players come with video hardware acceleration and tons of features without need of any addons or plugins.

No. It starts to download files already and on "accept" it shows you the progress it made so far

and on cancel stops downloading them

winkey > mpv for a gui to drop files in

or rightclick any media file and switch default player from totem to mpv for that filetype
