The thing I hate but also love about linux is everyone comes up with different solutions that "almost" do the same thing to achieve the same problem
Mir vs Wayland
Flatpak vs snappy
are just a couple fo examples
wouldalways rather build from source
for something that wasnt a personal computer or workstation I can see where using one of them might make sense but there isnt really a reason not to build from source or against distros packages
To each thereown though

We studied BorlandPascal at Windows XP.
Until I changed school, lol.
Oh.. I remember how I saw Linux at the first time.
That was a strange distribution called "Alt Linux Master" for education.
We couldn't even copy paste picture in it. I didn't know anything about *nix, terminal, file system so I just thought win xp is way better.

now this one looks like something straight out of fallout. Awesome AF
We've been using analog oscilloscopes in the university. Hours of tweaking and adjusting to get something resembling a readable output... then a few years later we had to use a digital one, we started to adjust it again and then the teacher looked at us funny, asked why are we doing that to ourselves and pressed the "AUTO" button ?
