by installing a theme or changing out the theme icons

Not really - it lacks where kde goes overboard into too much customisation - but still offers the tools to get the job done

Yes that what I hate about KDE "too much of everything", it even come with torrent downloder installed and huge bunch of things u might not need it.

Prefer ODD to USB in OS installation.

Actually using a CD/DVD physical media is more reliable than USB. CD/DVD contains the ISO file system as is, USB must be created with DD or Fedora Media Writer to provide full support, UEFI boot for example.
