I use Fira Mono in terminal (I don't use Fira Code because ligatures don't work on Gnome Terminal)

I like it, although my likes are not very popular ??

also I think non-antialiased fonts in a console/editors are great

The Ram meme is so much bullshit. Only unused Ram is wasted Ram and Chrome "eating" it means "it will cache _everything_ so you can instantly reload the site when switching tabs instead of swapping". It will give said ram to any application that wants it else.
Firstly, not true. When a browser eats as much RAM as Chrome does, it doesn't just happily and magically release it, but rather it begins swapping out everything else in the system to make more room for itself, bringing the system to it's knees. If it behaved as you suggest (as most applications do) then I wouldn't have issue with it, but it does not. For what reason does a browser need to fill 4 gig of RAM AND a 4 gig swap file to full and STILL be wanting MORE? That's RIGHT! NO VALID REASON! And why are Chrome based browsers the only ones which behave this way if it's not Chrome at fault, eh? As to Vivaldi being closed source, so is Steam, so is Chrome, so are the Nvidia drivers, and so are a great many other softwares. So what? Open source wasn't my complaint against Chrome based browsers (though I do tend to prefer open source apps in the end). Excessive RAM abuse was/is.

Tobias?

17:35:10
I just literally dont see where the supposed ram meme comes from.

Because it is not happening here and the miniscule amount is more than bearable knowing it never swaps anything anywhere unless another software needs it.

And in the end the Ram usage is directly helping you with faster execution and page load times.

Dude i use chromium as daily browser and i often have 3 windows with 20+ Tabs each open. It does instantly release all Ram when others need it AND often doesnt take more than 3 gig in that configuration anyway - and i'd rather have it eat literally any free ram possible so i dont have to deal with it swapping.
So then because it doesn't abuse YOUR system, is automatically IMPOSSIBLE that it would do so an anyone ELSE'S system, and the many thousands of complaints or there about Chrome's excessive use of ram are all automatically invalid, and I'm just imagining all the swapping, right?

And again, I have it on 5 different computers with linux and windows going down to 4gb ram installed at minimum. It never happens on _any_ of these systems.

You greatly overplay this.

I did, if it switches to webkit and gets ublock/umatrix support i'm in the boat.

The webkit switch will happen anyway because qt will on their part ^^.

you can already run it with the new webkit

it worked fine in fedora you just start it with the backend option

it has a built in addblocker tbh
