I'm unable to change the shell theme, I can't change the default sounds, I can't configure a program to autostart using a simple way, I can't change the gdm greeter background, I can't see the progress of my file transfers .. And so on... Those are little things that should be accessible by default. Don't you think?

But I agree, this should be handled automatically. Try to remove it in dry-run using dnf. If it don't let you do that without removing everything, then you can't do that without breaking dependencies. And also, try to discover Nemo.

There is nothing bad about openning a bug, even if this is just a feature request. People avoiding that step, usually don't really want GNOME to become better. They like to just point a finger on it, say "this is bad", and escape it thenever possible.
