Locate mounted USB disk directory (if you use automatic mount, it should be in /run/media/USERNAME), find one big file (1GB would be enough) and run: time cp /path/to/big/file /run/media/USERNAME/USBNAME/file Make sure that you have enough free space there. That command will return you time that file was copied for. And speed would be filesize/time.
