Why? Just curiosity
IMO when it comes to post installation operations it is so unfriendly to use and manage compared to Fedora and Debian, I’m talking from handling repos to installing/deinstalling software, the dependencies entanglement, the way software packed into bundles and also the out of the box GNOME/KDE experience is so degraded compared to Fedora’s GNOME and Debian’s KDE

https://geckolinux.github.io/ For the same reasons i just tried that
I know about Geko but never tried it and will never do since i am a DE oriented user and when I say DE I mean KDE/GNOME and none else and as far as I am concerned the best KDE is KDE SC 4.14 so far and the go to system for that is Debian 8 KDE as for GNOME the go to system for that is Fedora which is my kind of a thing

Well, there is a bit of something for everybody, i tried Gecko and for a new user, it´s ok
A sort of Korora, but for Opensuse

I never understood why these "distributions" like Gecko, Mint or Korora are so popular, those are just base distros + sometimes custom skin + sometimes useful configuration, sometimes worthless (Korora: default timezone is Australia/Sydney, yeah SO USEFUL, also abrt disabled, just in case it would be actually useful to Fedora maintainers by accident)

Set up and use.
Everything works out of the box and as easy to tune as parent distro.

or they patch some packages so they look nicer, but don't update them as fast as upstream, and after an update everything breaks

Gwindor

Granny Smith doesn't care about outdated packages if everything works.

Granny Smith will probably use Ubuntu, as it's the most known, and - suprise - it also just works
same as Fedora, by the way
not mentioning the lack of closed source drivers and patented codecs, but that's an ideological issue

Gwindor

So do Xubuntu and stuff, but Mint is nicely preset.

Michał
09.04.2017
15:57:24
The only reason for that is that Mint uses Cinnamon (or what was it) by default, but for an end user it doesn't differ much from Xubuntu

But I don't think that it should stop working because old package.

if it's "I would store it on Dropbox and if someone sees it, then tough luck" then any of those will be okay, if it's "I'm going to store my bank account details there" secure, then I would host it myself

Anyone try i3-gaps wm in fedora!
You just need to install i3wm on Fedora, later git clone the source code from it official repo and compile it. It is easy. Not sure if there is a copr repo for it.
