And slow
Definitely. I mean, currently I'm reading a diff which allows me to leave comments and that's it. It uses 15-20% CPU at all times.

You dont want HiDPI support on a HiDPI screen?
Wait is that a 1920x1080 display?

Quentin

15:41:41
2560*1440

Sadin
07.04.2017
15:42:26
That is technically a HiDPI display

Quentin
07.04.2017
15:42:28
It looks so uncomfortable

Sadin
07.04.2017
15:42:45
is it a 13”?

Quentin

How can I change the right dpi
What is 13?

Thirteen inch display

Quentin

15:43:35
14 inch

Sadin
07.04.2017
15:43:46
That might be why it looks a little cramped.
you can install the gnome-tweak-tool

But Fedora is doing its job and adjusting gnome based on your HiDPI display
I have a 15 inch display and without HiDPI support most things are almost unreadable

Okay so then you would set your scaling options.

Quentin
07.04.2017
15:45:40
It is 1 by default

Tobias?

15:45:45
how the Fuck is taht a Scaling "1"
For the Sake of it, adjust to 2 and then switch back?

Quentin
07.04.2017
15:46:29
When I adjust to 2, nothing changed
It makes me sad
Does it want me quit?

Tobias?
07.04.2017
15:51:24
No, change back now
maybe it just displayed bonkers
if that doesnt work, try changing to X.ORG from the login screen

Sadin
07.04.2017
15:59:29
Gnome tweak tool displays its default values on installation
fedora HiDPI is auto set to 2 by the QA team
So if he changes to 2, then back it *should* work

Quentin
07.04.2017
16:04:38
I login xorg
The top bar is still large

I still see people greatly attached to Mac and Windows, and with no signs of interest on Linux OSes on their desktops :P
Companies absolutely love Windows, Linux remains to be a "server" OS or an OS for nerds.
(My Math teacher has an old ThinkPad running Linux, that guy is awesome, but apart from that...)

The rest are threatened with court.
My previous company had to pay TWICE a few licenses because Microsoft were threatening with their lawyers, even though we were fully legal, they refused to acknowledge us
I'm sure this is common practice.

Many is a tough descriptor because it really depends on the university, but I know that it's this way in a fair number of places
The companies like Microsoft or whoever throws the proprietary tools at universities for free are gambling on a long-term investment for the students to depend on their tools and then to take them to wherever they end up working or doing later on after graduating
A little bit backwards, if you think about it, hahah

I think people see it if they're taught to see it, but a lot of this weight falls onto the professors and teaching faculty at univerisities. The problem is that they teach tools and not skills, so people just accept the status quo.
