I`m sorry but I think I can`t help, but when I`ve used Arch, there was th same problem and in Arch you have to install Nvidia drivers and remount drivers

I would say quality over quantity. Also it depends on what you do with your computer. There's software that is easily available in Fedora and not that easily in other distros.

QA Team have done a great job making fedora rock solid and stable

There are thousands of ubuntu instalations worldwide, but canonical if not able to monetize the ubuntu market because ubuntu market have a lot of script kiddies, they prefer to use a how to or a tutorial to ask for professional support

The thing with devuan was not about haters or detractors, it was about choices, some people wanted to have systemd as default and drop sysV init... then the other part wanted to have more options not only being forced to use systemd. The same does Gentoo by having systemd, OpenRC and some others I don't know. I have read about people running Gentoo with KDE without systemd, and about other guy trying to provide an option that will allow you to install Gentoo with GNOME Shell without systemd...

Debuan have not a lot resources, many projects are using systemd, even write a sysinitv init scritp if not something trivial, gnome will become requering systemd

Looks like, something is pretty wrong with ODD (or it's communication with motherboard) and either GPU (though, it works pretty fine in Windows XP) or motherboard itself (CMOS, I don't like how does that look, maybe it's you?).
