Why entering your password twice? I only enter my password once per login....
I need to provide a passphrase for LUKS to decrypt a hard drive, and after that I would have to provide a password again for login

or I am missing some way to provide a password once ;)

天荣

Set LUKS password and autologin

They can change your user's password

This is the reason to encrypt a whole disk or at least some partitions.

It depends on how sensitive is your data and who's your oponent. I for myself don't give a shit if someone lurks in my laptop. I have everything backed up and my information is fairly general.

it's quite possible that you still have cookies in your browser that would allow the attacker to use your online accounts, other than that, yeah

I periodically clean everything. And I do it twice when I travel (when I depart and when I arrive).

Said that, I'm currently in UK and that means that EVERYTHING I'm writing, reading, etc, it's recorded. So why would I bother?

There's no such a thing as privacy in UK, shame on them, but well.

I do use encrypt on communications when I can. When the other end insist to use WhatsApp or FB Messenger there isn't much I can do really. But when I can, I encrypt.

Might not stop 100% but it surely does make it fundamentally difficult.

HTTPS won't prevent them to record and watch
Actually for the most part, yes.

Or they might watch but won't understand a thing for a while.

A while like 10 years while or so.
