notepad is nice
I can only disagree. Notepad.exe has a missing feature that for me is a must: dark theme. I really hate when at work I connect to machines that only have Notepad.exe as editor
The first thing I do when I try a program is search a dark theme
my desktop is a sample of this

Google

In a text editor your spend many hours, and without a dark theme it burns your eyes
In addition, I have experienced better performance in Notepad++ than in notepad.exe, which in a so basic application sucks
maybe my bad perception
comparing notepad.exe with another editor is like comparing Internet Explorer 6 with Firefox or cmd in Windows < 10 (you cannot even maximize it to full screen!) with Gnome Terminal, Konsole, Terminator, etc.
I even have created a library using LESS for creating themes in web applications: https://github.com/Martin1887/camaLESS

Oh, boy... themes are the last thing I look on any program. But of course that's me and not you.

Martín
26.01.2017
17:56:43
it's not themes, but dark interface
I don't mind if I cannot choose among many themes ?
although in a text editor they are more important

Yes, the appearance, I understood. And that's the last item of my list. I always look at the working features first. And then I look into the appearance

Martín
26.01.2017
17:59:14
but then there was not a dark theme, you had to create it

What does this means? Haven't you Telegram installed on your phone?

Tobias?
26.01.2017
18:00:26
that one is dorked up on android builds
As one could darken the entire app and use string values for it so it can be easily done/customized - unlike telegram does

Dark themes are better
if you use a lot of time the computer , dark interfaces helps a bit
and a program named f lux works well too

Martín

18:07:58
I used F.lux in Windows
Now I use Redshift in Fedora
and Twilight in Android

yes, sometimes there is no alternative
Octave exists, but if you have to use Matlab in the exam...
although many times in public institutionsn free software could be used and propietary is chosen
spending a lot of money in many cases
it's a pitty
