I copy&paste this long message as I thought it was intended to, running sudo -i beforehand. I ls the route of the repositories but I cannot find any testing Fedora repository besides rpmfusion testing, is that correct?

It is not that much to worry about tough as testing isnt a repo that should be active in general
Perhaps you may be correct there, sir. I wouldn't deny your point up there.

@Tobias4X - Concerning Shockwave Flash Player or whatever plugin I am using on my end. The latest Firefox release (50 if I recall correctly) keeps me saying the plugin is outdated and therefore I should update it. Bringing up the previous discussion we had, is it true Adobe Flash Player no longer supports Firefox or vice versa? I'm mulling over the idea of installing Chromium as you suggested me.

On a separate note, I found this Firefox add-on called Flash Control. It literally is an on-off switch for Flash Player and components as such. To an extent, it cushions the blow if you allow me to say it so.

Is that A third party flash plugin like openjdk?
Its a Flash Player that is compatible with chrome(ium)'s sandboxed pepper plugins

Pepper Flash Player is maintained by Google, and is newer than Adobe Flash Player. Adobe currently still provides security fixes for Adobe Flash Player. Google provides newer features in Pepper Flash Player. Pepper Flash Player can currently only be used with Chromium (and with Chrome).

it will not do you any good tough as you shouldn't be using testing anyway
How come it was working by default? I hardly ever modify my system.

In the best case one should abandon flash totally but if you _have_ to use it, chromioum + pepperflash is the better choice in the end
I'd like to use the Chromium alternative. What were your reasons to say it is safer than Firefox and the Adobe Plugin?

I'm forwarding this to myself, so I don't lose it later on. How do you consider uMatrix better than any other on-off switch?

sandbox. fixed by google, which are known to be kind of, well, better coders and speedier fixers than adobe

You can stop literally anything from loading - be it css + images to keep your footprint light for mobile surfing or javascript, even from specific hosts...

QT apps have big controls
Not sure if this gonna work, but IIRC I have seen almost the same question about scaling on qt app. Try this under your own risk: env QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0 vlc And if it works... echo "export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=0" > /etc/profile.d/qt-hidpi.sh

@Tobias4X - Do you happen to have a straightforward step-to-step to get Chromium installed? Pepper Flash is a necessity too, I daresay...

But why would you enable instable Software?
I didn't know whether it was enabled in the first place. All I can say so far is that it came up from the default installation and I mistakenly erased it.

To use the PPAPI "PepperFlash" flash plugin, download it here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Choose Linux 64-bit, FP 22.0 (or later) for other Linux 64-bit, PPAPI. You will then have flash_player_ppapi_linux.x86_64.tar.gz. Unpack it into /usr/lib64/chromium-browser/PepperFlash/. Then, restart chromium. You should see Adobe Flash Player in chrome://plugins.

dnf install chromium
Lol. Earlier I was researching how to get it done and I think I added a repository - or maybe I didn't. Does this repository comes up built-in or was it added by myself?

Either way, I tried dnf install chromium and it seems to be working. It is installing it.
