My personal advise is: Arch or Fedora. Both are the most stable at the same time having the newest packages. They also have good resources and communities. But of course, every person and case is different.

I have one machine running OSX and my other machine running Linux. So i'm not even full-time linux user, I understand the necessity of having a different OS.

There are some OSX apps that just do not have support or any substitute for Linux

Same for apps like Sony Vegas or Adobe After Effects/ Premiere for me, no substitute in Linux :/

TBH, I login once in a blue moon when a Photoshop feature is impossible to find in Gimp or I want to play with flight simulator a friend gave me for my brithday, and it doesn't run on Linux. I don't really use the system, I don't touch it. Moreover, it's still in Polish as it came when I bought the laptop.

What the script does is open source. You can audit yourself what it does. I like running scripts on random Windows 7/8/10 PCs or laptops I get to reach out. Being at college, work or wherever else. I am not installing GNU/LInux on their devices because I am utterly sure they will complain and cry such babies, yet I do something to stop Microsoft snooping in. Furthermore, I install privacy-concerned add-ons such as uBlock Origin, HTTPS Everywhere... Something's something.

Gimp is great and I love it. But there's still one or maybe two features that Gimp doesn't. If they would care to add those working as good as Photoshop does, I'd be the first to delete Adobe for good.
