Thanks @Wolfshappen yeah it is larger pain than I thought it was going to be. Hence why I went back to Pop as it runs the switching ok. Kinda wish I spent the money on an ultra book and put the rest into my desktop box but wanted to support System76 and thought this laptop could replace my desktop all together.

System76 is horribly overpriced. Why would anyone want to support them?

Well, I would buy an Apple laptop if I have the money, but I'm not supporting it. I'm just buying something that is good and will have warranty and support for ages. Plus, works well my phone and has everything I need for design.

They have too little clients to lower their price.
Exactly that's the reason for them to ask lower prices. So they gain customers. Who would want to buy an almost unknown brand with ridiculous prices? If one is going to pay a lot of money, better putting it in a good widespread brand that you know what you're getting for and you'll have a branch nearby to go in case of problems.

Mine for example. Costed 490€, with touchscreen, two batteries (internal & external), keyboard with backlight, 8GB RAM, 250 SSD, i7 as processor, 1920x1080 screen resolution and a very nice graphic card.

Wow. That's such a good price!
Yeah, but you can get them cheaper if you have less requisites. Keep in mind I use it for a lot of photography and artistic work, so it needs good resolution, screen, graphic card.
If you use it, let's say development or office work, you can find them cheaper. An X220 or later is about 200€
Obviously everything comes with 1 year warranty, @voiday , as that's mandatory by law in the EU

Thanks and tell me where to start.
If you're on Windows, get a pendrive of 8GB or more, keeping in mind that it will be completely erased. Get https://github.com/FedoraQt/MediaWriter/releases/tag/4.1.1 . It will guide you through creating a bootable pendrive. Restart the computer with it inside. When the computer starts, select to boot from the pendrive (this procedure varies between different computer brands, so you have to figure this out yourself ;) ). If it boots from the pendrive correctly, then select to run the live environment instead of installation. Fedora should be running few minutes later.

Proprietary ACPI is a major problem in Linux.
Even ThinkPads are working very bad in Linux due to ACPI bugs.
I hacked kernel on my ThinkPad T580 to fix throttling problem.

Lots ACPI errors during boot, completely broken power-saving mode on kernels < 4.19 and throttling CPU up to 400 MHz.
