anyone have an oryx pro and fedora with dual graphics working?

I can only seem to get one or the other graphics driver working and not both (as in unable to switch from one to the other without having to reinstall drivers etc)

I've put pop back on it as it's easy to just select which driver I want to use and reboot

I would prefer to use fedora though as I'm just used to using it.

Idk. I can reproduce this at every boot,(first boot on each day) the HDD led gets lit up for about 12 minutes, boot taking about 3 -6 minutes while login in to the desktop. I have removed gnome software, packagekit but still no luck. But Manjaro is significantly faster and this is embarrassing for us.

Phoronix tested it on a ssd so it's unlikely it will cause any difference.

First we have to find out the root cause.

You can switch drivers per-tool with DRI_PRIME=1 executable in your terminal. Also if you have dash to dock installed you can right click applications in it and select "launch on dedicated card"

Dnf caches data. You can enforce cleaning it with dnf upgrade --refresh --best

If it's really an ages old service then why it is still been used in fedora? Tracker can do that job pretty easily imo. We need only one "indexing service" imo.

locate has a stable cli interface and is a favourite across scripts because its on way more systems.

And its way, way faster - to index and to query.

Its just a compressed filename store really.

More data to parse, on less (especially server) systems, slower to query.
