I think it was even certificated by lenovo as a linux system for red hat
But wanted your opinion just in case
Latest thinkpad i bought, had to sell it again. It was impossible to make it work right

AMD stuff
That was my error

Kohane

Well, I have that graphic card I think, or maybe a newer one, and works fine out of the box.

Kohane

08:36:28
Yeah, Intel works everywhere and with everything.
Which model was that Thinkpad you sold, @DanieldSM ?

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:37:08
Heck, even in windows, it was always overheating even during install of windows
Until it downloaded by updates some AMD Intelligent Cooling crap

Kohane
22.10.2018
08:37:53
Well, installing Windows is quite a stressful task, for both computer and human being.

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:38:00
?
It was a ThinkPad E555, AMD Kaveri

Kohane
22.10.2018
08:38:41
Ah. No, never had the E series.

Google

Kohane
22.10.2018

Any reason to choose that one?

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:39:43
Yup, cheap at second hand. Guess why ?
Even with all update on windows, my R500 with a dual core P8400 is performing better

Yup, cheap at second hand. Guess why ?
Oh, mine is second hand too, I bought it from a German company specialiased in Lenovo. They're pretty good.
But I bought it because of the graphics, I needed something with good resolution and a nice video card.

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:44:40
My R500 has better resolution than the E55 which is 6 years newer too ?

I have a laptop about the same age. Dell Latitude, with Nvidia card and an awesome screen. Shame is so heavy and has US keyboard. Works excellent.

Daniel

Bought on Germany too, german keyb ?

Major drawback is weight and that when I put it out, it feels a bit like a dinosaur with the other laptops around, so thick

But I have plenty of space ❤️

Daniel
22.10.2018

With lid closed it is almost as thick as two new laptops stacked. If they are ultrabooks, even 3 or 4 ???

Kohane

LMAO
That's more that the one I have.

Daniel

About space, because I almost never use the DVD, I have on it an Ultrabay with a 1TB WD Black HDD

Kohane
22.10.2018
08:50:43
Looks like Thinkpad were thicker than Dell?

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:50:59
And leave the DVD on the ThinkPad bag

Kohane
22.10.2018
08:52:39
Just to clear the point, @Wolfshappen , GDM has no tool to change themes while SDDM and KDE provide the tools to tweak it by default

Daniel
22.10.2018
08:58:49
that's why I left it on the bag, just in case, which is almost never
better to have a second HDD

Kohane

There's an external optical device somewhere in this flat. I swear! ?
But yeah, I prefer a backup drive rather than a DVD/CD thing

Does fedora 29 has gallium nine?

Google

Tobias?
22.10.2018
09:43:12
And it seems the patches have been merged into mainline (gallium nine) since mesa 10.4 so any mesa 10.4+ using distro should have it.

I don't know Italian, but the updater couldn't resolve the connection to the mirror.
Install neofetch instead?

Tobias?
22.10.2018
09:47:35
He seems to be using gnome so for screenshots he already has his DE.
If you want to take screenshots just use your DEs internal features. For showing off the system info page in gnome exists as well.
Oh and dont use rawhide as daily driver of course.

dnf install neofetch but again do not use it as daily driver.

chromium 70's aom decoder looking good but still takes up 500% of cpu for playing just 1080p 60 fps video.

It even integrates with nextcloud(13) so you can sync your database everywhere.
There are integration addons for browsers for all major browsers.
Make sure to use keepassxc, it currently has the single best all in one package, including browser plugin support ootb
