I don't mind to spend time choosing tech stuff or pencils or brushes... but clothes, ugh!

Thats why i switched to workwear. Like, five color combinations - thats it.
My problem is not the colours. That's dead easy. My problem is that I don't fit the usual standard.

In Germany I'm "Mädchen", in UK I'm rather big, and in Uruguay I'm oversized (if available).

And standard measurements that are actually checked.
How can you tell they were checked? ?

And to add more to the mess, in UK's second hand shops I'm simply standard (so... did the English grew taller over time or the manufacturers shrinked their clothes?).

what madchen/girl size means?
Smaller than adult. For German standards I'm small. Not just short, but overall small.

It's great because I can buy cheaper shoes and clothes most of the time ?

Yup. They often do that. Or you have different sizes but all of them under "Mädchen", "Kinder", etc labels.

That's very handy, because you know what you can expect. In UK they mix both standards, the English ones with the Europeans, but not necessarily warning you which one they're using.

I hate the Chinese sizes. They're all so tiny... I feel like some sort of Gulliver. LOL

In Europe they're very common, in some areas more than others. In Germany, I got used to people just puting their stuff for others to pick it up. I got good furniture and clothes from that custom. Also the Flohmarkt is a super nice idea. You buy stuff for stupid prices.

Said that, UK has far more charity shops and second hand shops for about anything, than any other place I know.

The books you may find for a couple of pounds is astounding.

And no, not "all over the world" @kraso , just Europe. And only sometimes, not all the time. But as I am 40, I already gathered some experiences.

That's funny how "flea market" is "flea market" in any language
True. But I never used the term until coming to Europe. I don't know in other countries in LATAM, but in Uruguay and Argentine (or most of Argentine) those markets are called "ferias" or "garage sales/shops".

Kohane

In Uruguay they aren't very popular though, people tend to be very conservative with their stuff, they prefer to keep it in a cellar to rot away rather than selling it or giving it away.

Wait, you're really 40? My world just fell over.

That there is sort of filter for every enough developed race that prevents it from exploring and counquering space.

There are different solutions for it, like: 1. We are the most developed race in our galaxy (Milky Way). 2. We are really the only. 3. Etc, etc...

Tobias?

I wasn't aware of the silly gay dances. Now I'm curious...
Damn, didnt find the one where one stands up and holds the other and then they slap butts - but that one is pretty gay and maybe for that reason went out of style. xD But the "schuhplattler" still involves enough self-contact with slaps. xD

Phil

Well, no guarantees in that. Being more intelligent doesn't mean being less warlike or something. There may be colonizers or religious zealots or whatever.
