I downloaded the compiled tarball from the official Firefox website and unzipped it into the /opt directory. The configuration and operation are normal, but I don't know how to set it as the default browser.
Why? This way you will not get distro updates, not get optimized packages and you'll have to deal with mozilla putting things in they shouldnt

Why not use the fedora-supplied firefox?

this is the output of lightdm --test-mode --debug

dnf groupinstall base-x solved the problem

somehow dnf groupinstall mate-desktop is not enough for a minimal installation

But it should automatically install the xorg isn't it?

Hi folks, I'm often getting two weird errors in KDE. One is that Python 3.6 stopped working. I restart it and everything is fine but I don't know what it means or if it can be fixed. The other error is about indexing. When I close the session it says it's still running and I shouldn't kill it. I hate indexing stuff, so can I uninstall it or at least disable it? Thanks in advance.

I think it can be installed and run as a standalone panel too

That is a LOT of baggage wrapped around rsync.

Also you usually dont do rsync replication. Proper active/passive node usually involves haproxy as load balancer (or similar) with up-status checks and a shared database and glusterfs cluster for the application.

Hm, I guess it's hard to say what's going wrong just with that error message, as it's not actually python3.6 not working, but some python related script crashing on your pc

Maybe check journalctl when that python error message pops up again and see if you find something related to it

Thats not the same as video acceleration.

That you have chrome coming default with ffmpeg, which you could as well install for chromium and firefox, is a different story.

They use ridiculous amounts of cpu time.

When your gpu decodes it your cpu stays free for other tasks, while you use less energy using a specialized chip to decode it.

Thats why you want acceleration for pretty much everything in browsers.
