Okay.
You should always check first if the program you want is available in repositories. If not, check in a third party repository like RPMFusion. If not, check in Flatpak/Flathub. Only if you can't find them anywhere, use appimage or standalone executables.

I think. Flatpak shoud be the last resort.

Ah. It's not first hand experience, then?
PS on wine on a chromebook? No. CS 2015 on wine? Yeah I tried it back then and it worked. Nowadays I just run a windows vm if i need to do something that can't be done in GIMP.

I wanted to avoid Windows all together, so a VM is not an option to me.
Using Wine on the other hand can help me.
Thanks @IceWreck !

is this srs issue??
Unlikely, something just went wrong on bootup. Check for thirdparty unsupported kernel modules (nvidia, broadcom, virtualbox) or hardware behaving weird in dmesg.

The left side yes, but github said that they didnt use that mode to verifiy keys (atleast Github enterprise).
However x2go may still be affected.

What about KDE?
Uses it in client mode (sftp connect) - only server is vulnerable.
Oh wait no, its also for the sftp server.
Yeah, kde is vulnerable if you enable its sftp file sharing since that seems to be a thing?

Do not, ever, install drivers by hand.
Nvidia drivers are in the rpmfusion repository.
Do not use nvidias .run file.
(same for broadcom wifi and co).

You can enable the rpmfusion repository then and then install broadcom-wl.

I downloaded the compiled tarball from the official Firefox website and unzipped it into the /opt directory. The configuration and operation are normal, but I don't know how to set it as the default browser.

If you specify the path to the firefox executable, then the system will call .local/share/xfce4/helpers/custom-WebBrowser.desktop
