What creates doubts is the fact that I'm not actually deleting the repository, only marking it unredeable or something.

It remains there, though it doesn't trigger any update to the package in question. That's OK, but I'd like to purge. :-P

The Firefox Flash Plugin is outdated and has known vulnerabilities.

You can only use chromium + chromium-pepper-flash if you dont want Google Chrome

That I don't have an answer for, but Adobe is still updating Flash Player for Linux regardless of browser.

Just remove Adobe Flash completely. 99% of websites will start using HTML5 players instead.

HTML 5 video works well, even on old hardware. I updated a computer running Firefox 24 to Firefox 49 and instantly noticed that all of HTML 5 video's lag problems were gone. Great job at mozilla!

YouTube's codecs are so extremely compressed that even very old hardware can play it

If you work on many stuff, I would advise you to throw a 1 TB hard drive in there if you can afford to, to store stuff and use SSD for main OS and other things that need speed
