I dropped my good laptop last year and it died yesterday. It has been ill ever since I dropped it.

I dug the wifi adapter out of it and put it into my AMD based netbook. It is still slow as mud, but now I get good wifi connections fast.

Hello.... I'm trying to use Thunderbird as email/calendar but it doesn't show alerts if the window isn't open. Does anyone know how to do to get alerts from Thunderbird even if I close it? Thanks in advance

It needs to stay open but you can use systray addon and keep it on behind and it will show alerts

They don't only get how free software works, they don't get how software development works in general, proprietary or not. It's not only in the free software sector that developers reuse other developer's work. In this case, a porn site used an image uploading software written by this Irani citizen which got him a death sentence.

For example, OpenSUSE documentation suggests to only run "zypper dup" in a TTY. The Fedora article on system upgrades does not mention this, neither does Debian.

I have never had problems. I always restart my PC after important updates. Frequently I perform an update using the shell. In the case of the link, it says the packages are corrupted inside the OS, I guess

Upgrade to F24 as soon as possible. F22 is already reached it's EOL and no longer supported.
