Open source its a fluid concept, it can be applied to another field and so, for example open hardware and open knowledge. Lets say if you can make a BTS cellular, and want to share your blue print possessed to The rest of The worlds. which one term you one to pick? Free BTS and Open BTS?.

open source and free software can be about the same thing, but they are due to different motivations

Free Software is due to the social aspect, the freedom

But the product is virtually the same
