I think you'd need to change the theme pack you're using for the cursor to do that. But another thing you can do, if you go on the gnome tweak tool, keyboard and mouse section. You can turn on "Show location of mouse pointer"

Then everytime you press CTRL it will show you where the cursor is in a large and clear manner
