Hey Fedora people, a friend of mine has a SSD/HDD setup in his laptop which came with Ubuntu. He wants to install Fedora. Is Anaconda going to detect the multi-drive setup and suggest a good partitioning? Or will he need to set it up manually?

He wants to encrypt the drives as well, by the way.

Fedora will connect both Drives if he selects both - making them one group and the larger one the bootdrive

sadly you loose most of the ssds speed gain with it

AND i never managed to select the smaller ssd as bootdrive in anaconda if a larger drive and encryption is selected

I wasn't able to effectively use LVM provisioning to have the speed increase. I used traditional partitioning and was able to encrypt the entire system with that. I have my boot partition on the SSD and the rest of the system on the HDD.

When I switch on the computer (fedora 24 partition) it blocks in emergency mode while booting the error message is 'radeon VCE: init error (-22).' I can press Ctrl-d to reboot but it comes back to this problem

I added 'init=/bin/bash' to the line starting with linux editing the fedora workstation file (instead of booting it) and got to open a bash 4.3 shell to run 'dmesg | egrep -i 'vce|error' and it returns this:

Do you have an AMD GPU? Try booting with radeon.runpm=0

Create mpv.conf in ~/.config/mpv/ add following to that conf [pseudo-gui] terminal=no force-window=yes idle=once screenshot-directory=~/Desktop/ —screenshot-template=mpv-%tY-%tm-%td now start mpv from terminal as mpv —profile=pseudo-gui

You can replace pseudo-gui with general in first line.. So to open that profile you need, mpv --profile=general

I was using mpv as backend in smplayer and just now started using it. So many options under the hood. I'm loving it. Only problem I have right now is to make it single instance only.
