Why change the default that everybody was used to for so long? The default that is used in Windows, Xfce, Unity, MATE, Cinnamon and KDE?

It is very annoying. Everybody is used to that a folder should be highlighted, not a search started. If I wanted to search I'd do Ctrl+F. Windows', Xfce's, Unity's, MATE's, Cinnamon's and KDE's file managers are highlighting the folder. Only Nautilus is breaking the workflow everybody is used to.

That is such a stupid argument. Just because something is new doesn't mean it is good. Some things from the past are really great and we should continue to use them, not radically change things just to change something.

True, for going back Alt+← makes sense. Though for going *up*, backspace was always the default.

so, where we talk about file managers. I couldn't figure out, how to perform a recursive search in thunar I don't need it myself really, I use find|grep but my girlfriend, since we share the same laptop.

Though I agree that Nautilus is (currently) a piece of crap, I'd rather concentrate on improving it than blaming the user for using something that comes with Fedora by default.

An already improved version in my opinion is nemo, or caja. As fedora changed some thing in fedora terminal I wish they would changed nautilus. Changing nautilus doesnt mean that fedora won't help gnome making nautilus better. In my opinion they should not fear to change Gnome a bit. Do someone know how can I let know this kind of proposal/ideas/suggestion to fedora team. Is there a right place to that or I should be part of some thing to propose this kind of stuff?

In general, all environments coming with Fedora are stable, though since GNOME is the default environment on the Workspace Edition, you'll probably get most support for that environment.

You could try removing with dnf history undo ${ID} where $ID is the transaction in which you installed "Fedora Workstation" (to find out the $ID check out dnf history list).

By the way, what .iso did you install Fedora with?

Whiskermenu is meant only for the Xfce panel. Try Mintmenu for MATE.
