Other than defaults rpmfusion is only one for media..are you looking for any other packages?

For chrome browser th there is one..

I wonder especially since I see that some packages like "Blender" not their latest versions are updated.

These repositories "rpm fusion" are reliable?

Pravin

Yes. They are using same build server. I use it only for media packages..for blender can you try search in gnome-software?

there are the Russian Fedora repos as well, useful if you want Opera, the PPAPI flash (and freshplayerplugin), Oracle Java and other things that RPMFusion will never package

Yep, but it cannot be built from sources because of patched versions of WebKit and Qt.

it doesn't mean anything. Read more about Canonical CLA: https://mjg59.dreamwidth.org/25376.html I'm not telling that official tg-desktop is under some CLA, but you can not just take it and build, because it simply will not work

Try to build it without Qt and WebKit patches.
What you're saying is that being open-source itself and needing a patched open-source library makes it proprietary

Vitaly

No, but open source version can be built only with patched versions of Qt and WebKit, so it will be never available from main Fedora's repository.

I see, but that's a completely different matter

Can't they get the upstream projects to merge their patches?

Only Qt needs a patch on Linux, as per build instructions

I can't assess if they're dirty hacks or not, I'm curious as to why you deem them as such

To be fair, the default Fedora install does come with Nautilus and you can't expect everybody to know how to install a different file manager.

Though I agree that Nautilus is (currently) a piece of crap, I'd rather concentrate on improving it than blaming the user for using something that comes with Fedora by default.

Google for "Nautilus 3.20 findrpm f24" and try reinstalling the older version of nautilus or you can recompile it using nautilus source code

but Nautilus is perfectly fine?
1. Open Nautilus 2. Use ←↑↓→ to select a folder 3. Press Enter 4. Press Backspace to go one up 5. Nothing happens

but Nautilus is perfectly fine?
1. Open Nautilus 2. Start typing "Ima" expecting the folder "Images" to be selected (as with every other file manager) 3. Nautilus initiates a recursive search!

Also, the bug reported by @Gsheep which started this whole conversation.

Why would i backspace to folder up
Because you'd like to keep your hands on the keyboard instead of having to use the mouse to go one up. Thunar, Konqueror, Caja and others are able to do this, why not Nautilus?

You can very likely set the key combination yourself- and user that dont know what that is very likely have no idea that you can even use your keyboard to navigate

Why change the default that everybody was used to for so long? The default that is used in Windows, Xfce, Unity, MATE, Cinnamon and KDE?

yes?
It is very annoying. Everybody is used to that a folder should be highlighted, not a search started. If I wanted to search I'd do Ctrl+F. Windows', Xfce's, Unity's, MATE's, Cinnamon's and KDE's file managers are highlighting the folder. Only Nautilus is breaking the workflow everybody is used to.
