It should be there in the adapter information though.

If you had that it'd be the easiest thing in the world but with this its https://openforums.wordpress.com/2015/10/21/setting-up-pppoe-connection-on-fedora/ unlikely to do that

I'm not sure if Windows will show it, but you can try.

Windows encrypts that so you'd need a decoder from somewhere i think

Oh and consider using a proper firewall for this

Ouch.
Well, "encrypts" since the key is on the device but you have to extract it.

I'm really tempted to advice OP to find a better ISP.
Nah, i use pppoe over my draytek in bridgemode too so my firewall can get the public ip. XD

Fuck any piece of isp-controlled hardware

Wew.

xD

Tobias?
17.09.2017

Well, my isp gave me a fritzbox - and fuck avm for disabling bridged pppoe passtrough so i had to buy a draytek instead

You need the pppoe credential first.

I couldn't find it And now my internet is down I called my isp and ask why I'm not able to access my internet he said there is some technical problem will fix it by this evening

Tobias?
17.09.2017
09:35:42
Because i want my equipment to get the public ip and not do the crazy dance to let it know what its public ip is

luckily thats fixed in germany by law now - free choice of hardware.
We can get the modem put in bridge mode and just use our own router but the modem is absolutely required for communicating with the ISP

The first thing i disable is everything but modem capability. And even then i want a modem as retarded as technically possible.

I don't know my ip
You dont need to know your ip, you need to know the one you login to.

Look in the windows network settings for the ppp connection.

The alternative I have around is an ASUS RT-N66U but that and our Linksys router clash

The moment I plug it in, internet is gone

(it's in AP mode)

Thats likely a setup fault. did you openwrt/lede your linksys?

I happily run a wrt 1900acs as upgrade from my wrt54gl.

Not a single problem in all the years and exceptional performance trough the board.

Last time we had a power outage, the Linksys had its firmware corrupted or something, took me 3 hours to set it up simply because the setup assistant refused to come up as "it had no internet"

Well fuck that, I can't set it up when I plug it in

Thats what i have on anything but lineage.

Especially since i encrypt my phone and i'd miss work if it reboots overnight.

Firmware ships with custom ROMs and I ran the latest open beta

Tobias?

Lineage depends on the latest firmware being installed usually and oneplus provided those trough its rom updates

Yes but not the actual bootloader and modem updates

VC321xb47@aperture:~#

Including the modem

Not the bootloader though, that's right

Then that would mean a 800mb aospa file.

VC321xb47@aperture:~#

But that shouldn't effect the ROM so much

Android drivers are delicate and a single wrong constant can make the difference between bootloop and working phone.

Thats amazing and horrible

09:54:03
Of course it should.
If a bootloader loads firmware X or Y, what difference does it make to it

The things "worked"

Just not right
