The last time I got an error about LUKS, I was expecting a Fedora Worksation with GNOME and all the goddies Atomic adds. With the Atomic Host iso I had a successful install but I did not understand it XD.

Me too, it prompted the emergency mode right after the Fedora logo fill up on boot screen. I think I should have tried without encryption.

Don't choose auto-partitioning in the below installer ISO; you currently can't use a separate /home partition, and Anaconda defaults to that. This will be fixed in Fedora 27; see this known issue as well as this anaconda PR. There are ISOs available for Fedora 26 direct link and rawhide. https://pagure.io/workstation-ostree-config

Well yeah, starting the hdmi output on nvidia requires nvidia to be active - try the blacklisting it outright.

You are not only using kde, for which updates are not tested as fast and often - but also nvidia on a system with frequent updates. Nvidia is slow to keep pace with fedora official alone and with fedora kde spin you have an explosive mix.

Look at the ones it will remove and verify its not doing core uninstalls.

No, all packages that belong to those and aren't needed otherwise.

Yes, ideally in MBR/legacy mode to be compatible with most pcs - and keep in mind you need to disable secure boot/enable legacy boot on friends' pcs to boot it often.

The gui tools use packagekit or dnf behind the curtains anyway. But dnf is always the smarter solution.
