Hi guys I am a newbe and I need to schedule automatic updates between midnite and 6am. What is the best way to achieve this? I have free uncapped data during that period. Fedora workstation 26

So, how has the defaulted Wayland worked for you Fedora people?

"Running Applications that draw their UI as root" is the only thing x can do... well worse since thats a stupid idea to do.

What made you loose confidence?
I never gained it. I have Intels on both my work and home laptop, on my home laptop wayland sometimes crashes and in general works less smoothly than X did, so until I will trust wayland to be 100% stable I won't switch on my work laptop; also xfce doesn't have wayland version yet

How did you manage to make the more stable desktop server crash?
Maybe not exactly crash, but after screen was locked I was unable to unlock it again; screen was black and computer didn't react to mouse or keyboard events, I had to power it down completely (I will do the full update and file a proper bug report once I have some time). That way or another, until I will be able to use Wayland without any issues for one whole Fedora release (just like I am using X now) I am sticking to X on my work laptop

No bugs, no crash when moving windows between displays in the outer area...

Again, wondering how you managed to make gnome wayland on f26 crash.
The screen autolocked and I was unable to do anything other than power off the computer (music was still playing so it wasn't completely hung), possibly it is now fixed, but because of such issues I am postponing switching to Wayland; on the other hand I am still using the previous Fedora there... m,aybe I will do the upgrade today.

Never use virtualbox if you can avoid it, because of crap like that.

always use virt-manager that uses the native kvm (and install windows drivers in any windows vm, including the virtio storage driver on setup from guestimage)
