Well, not really malware.

But it forces your DNS as 8.8.8.8, for example.

Are you talking about the FallbackDNS that defaults to 8.8.8.8 unless you change it to another fallback DNS option?

Hmm :| Well, I don't know how it really works. I'm with systemd now and really happy how I can manage my services with systemctl. Also should try the nspawn feature. But systemd doesn't follow some Unix guidelines, which is bad in some meaning.

in my case, there's not many people using fedora around me

I think it's because general preference for kde

People tend to use distros traditionally associated to kde

Or ubuntu

Or debian

How connected using of distro to kde?

In the old times distros were more connected to specific desktops than today

Anyone a "shiny" alternative to Gome software Center which holds a bit more packages? Or the place to go to add tons of them? Because as we all know Gnome Software center looks very empty but dnfdragora simply lists all dnf packages in a way, that can also get when I simply use the cli. .-. I search for something more enduser friendly

Sheogorath
02.09.2017

less shiny but way more useful: dnfdragora and yumex-dnf
Well, what I have seen of dnfdragora I wouldn't call it more user-friendly than the cli ._.

Thats why i like yumex-dnf really. You can find any package, it shows all info neatly packed together and it is very fast.

If you want the dumb but shiny appstore use gnome software and if you want complete control use yumex-dnf or dnf cli.

I do wonder why you are against app center+dnf cli tough.

Thats kinda intentional tough. Someone that can't operate a terminal and dnf should not set to go into the prone-to-breakage task of switching what is powering their desktop.

MATE Tweaks isn't upstream MATE Desktop projects, it's from Ubuntu Mate. Someone had opened an issue at github, but they didn't interest to make it upstream.

Yea, 2 points: it's available on mageia. And Ubuntu mate didn't want to upstream it?
Given that Ubuntu MATE is mostly just Martin Wimpress, they'd upstreamed it long ago if they wanted. I think it's that they don't want it.

Which is good because Mate Tweak is very unprofessional

It'd be sad to see it in upstream mate
