If you get FreeBSD installed, after setting it up share a log from dmesg here (via a pastebin or similar) so others can have a easier way to diagnose

Wireless chip is intel ac 9260 so that's good. As for intel cpu, maybe powerdxx and powerd are a no go since it could use their custom managing system (I'll share links in a moment, a thinkpad of mine had some issues with that, and it is just a matter of give it the proper config). Another thing I'd recommend is to instal drm-kmod and enabling it. To be sure which dedicated gpu your machine has, check it out running pciconf -lv. You'll have to enable the correct one at config after installing the pkgs
