The last time I am amazed at me (a few days ago) was playing with the WiFi CSI channel, detecting people by the water content of their bodies is very fun
Badugar
Okay.. 😅
Lunokjod
Lunokjod
maybe the best is disable it (disfunctional/bugged/faked) is the same shit... "don't use" x'D
Badugar
Have you used tape on FreeBSD?
Lunokjod
never...the tar command is the maximum aproach
Badugar
I still struggle with it...
Badugar
mt and tar
Badugar
when to use the rewinding device file and when not to... 🤔
Tapes are cool, but confusing to operate.
Lunokjod
the old tape devices (same as floppy) is a mechanical device.... the timed delays are the normal aproach x'D
Lunokjod
if see the driver's sources, can appreciate the "magical" that means "wait 300ms and read, read again, return"
Lunokjod
😂😂😂
Lunokjod
wharm up delays
Badugar
It's an LTO-2 tape drive and an LSI MPT SCSI controller I have.
Really really old hardware.
Lunokjod
woo, I like that!
Lunokjod
what commands can use to operate it (that works by now) ?
Lunokjod
read?write?rewind?
Lunokjod
and mt obey?
Badugar
Lunokjod
I mean, if you ask to mt for seek or eom paramethers, the tape rolls
Lunokjod
can control the tape with mt or fails?
Badugar
mt has a few "subcommands" like eod for end of data
erase for erasing the whole tape, takes a long time
rewind for rewinding the tape
Lunokjod
yes... and works?
Lunokjod
on your vintage SCSI

im thinking of using freebsd instead of gnu/linux
can freebsd's kernel be configured as linux is configured, like menuconfig ...
does freebsd support waydroid or anbox
can i use it for android development?
Joe
void
void
maybe will just use a vm inside freebsd
XADE
swodig
isn't anbox discontinued? i think waydroid is the active project
XADE
XADE
I don't really see a reason to use it on PC, unless to support the development
VMs will serve better
It'll serve better for Linux on phone

Hi, is it possible to recover, stuck in loop with it?
Denis
go to single mode, run fsck

Also try going into single user mode, see if it fixes the issue

"To resolve this problem, you must bring the machine up single user and run a full fsck on it using ``fsck -f -y /filesystem_in_question''. This will find the hidden problem and correct it."

Hello, I have a question about bsd. I am a Normal user with infornatic formation. I can't use hardenedbsd/FreeBSD without getting mad? I would like to have the most safe reliable and debloated OS. My aim is reading pdf, writing on word, surf the web.
Reading the FAQ and guide on website I could "survive"?
Last thing, I found a guide to switch from openssl to libressl on wiki, this would break compatibility of software in repositories? Thanks in advance and excuse me for my newieness XD 🤗

And for the second.
Krond
LibreSSL will break a huge amount of stuff in ports. Like Telegram.

Also not to forget, there may be FreeBSD mobile derivatives in the works we don't know about yet
