I can only assume your hardware isn't supported for whatever reason, since for me I've always had to explicitly turn it off, having it be on by default

Are you guys experiencing telegram-desktop crashes on FreeBSD? Mine crashed as soon as successful login. Messages are still loading.

Hello.
I'm asking for tips, maybe someone can help.
How to change the number of queues for intel710DA2 network card in FreeBSD 13.0?
In FreeBSD 11.4 I use hw.ixl.max_queues (a record of this is in the documentation). And at 13 I can not find anything ((.

and yet we're chatting in a telegram room
Jackie
considering it free, ad-free and privacy-friendly (somewhat?) and unix-like system friendly, I won't blame it so hard just for some crashes
Anonymous
No, works fine on Arch, though I've never seen how it works on freebsd
Anonymous
send logs, lets see what the problem is
Anonymous
No, I'm talking to you with telegram-desktop on Arch right now
Anonymous
problem with hyperV probably
Candy
Telegram works great on FreeBSD and Linux for me. Only thing it hasn't worked for me on is big-endian PowerPC Linux
Jackie

Jackie
Okay I don't understand nothing you mentioned😂
Jackie
Probably just wait for a upgrade then
Anonymous
Jackie
It cannot last that long. Login and crash happened within 1min
Jackie
Seemed like won't crash before login though. Will check later, in 2 hours
Candy
Jackie
nor do I intend to or capable anyway
Anonymous
how is their code bad?
Anonymous
I meant an example

Jackie

yes
I would say to compile it from source, but its a tedious process that also involves keeping track of dependencies
I'm guessing you have a working web browser? If you have, you can use the web client in the meantime
Jackie
Jackie
Just this error message before it crashed
Jackie
Jackie
OK you probably won't believe it. The weirdest thing just happened, again. I was searching the web where do I find coredump file in FreeBSD and my laptop just stuck for like a second and quickly went into a reboot. But it got stuck at here
Jackie
Jackie
Happened once yesterday and I thought it was due to I upgraded from 13.0 to 13.0-p4. Boot code is missing? I went into liveCD mode using a flash drive and reinstalled boot loader yesterday and it worked.
Jackie
gpart bootcode -b /boot/boot0 /dev/ada0
dd if=/boot/zfsboot of=/tmp/zfsboot1 count=1
gpart bootcode -b /tmp/zfsboot1 /dev/ada0s4
dd if=/boot/zfsboot of=/dev/ada0s4a skip=1 seek=1024
Jackie
ada0s4 is a bsd slice. 4a is swap and 4b ZFS pool.
Jackie
Do I ran into some marginal case where no official support happened with FreeBSD?
Jackie
Just realized since I get the F1 F4 choose screen, MBR boot code should be in place. So I skipped the first line of boot0 code. It worked. I am in, again...🤦🏻♂

what is that
Jackie
Or machine identifiable?
Anonymous
since his account was not activated under this client, I'm guessing you can only find info about his machine
Jackie
which log file do I look at to find out why the sudden reboot?
Jackie
And do I need some config options to save coredumps? Cuz didn't see one now
Jackie
Catch the coredump in /var/log/message
Anonymous
or maybe not, since it was my shell that core dumped, so you might need to turn on something in order for telegram core dumps to be saved
Anonymous
ya commented out core dumps in your rc.conf file and forgot ya did it .... eh ?
Jackie
Jackie
root@freebsd:/var/crash # sysrc -A |grep core
savecore_enable: YES
savecore_flags: -m 10
Anonymous
Yeah I see this file too, even though I've never had core dumps
Suraj
