g
and im not installing any potteringware on here thank u
mrphyber
I'm having the same issue, fixed using sndio with chromium
mrphyber
it's the only way I found to let the microphone work, I was tearing my hair apart for days
mrphyber
I'm having the same issue, fixed using sndio with chromium
little note: as compiled chromium pkg does not have support for sndio, you will have to spend at least 3 hours compiling chromium with sndio enabled
mrphyber
but, works like a charm on webrtc
mrphyber
another little note: there is a known issue that webcam does not work on chromium, so it's a little tradeoff, mic on chromium or webcam on firefox
mrphyber
and im not installing any potteringware on here thank u
same thought process that led me into this
g
ii cant use chromium
mrphyber
g
not worth setting it up
g
and i cant compile anything big like firefox or chromium
mrphyber
it is the only way I found, maybe there is a better one
mrphyber
next solution is pulsecrap
mrphyber
I opted for compiling chromium
g
i phycsicaly can not compile chromium
mrphyber
pulse is you last choice, afaik
g
again that'd use way more memory
g
ill just use ripcord in linux emulator thingy
g
that should *probably* work
g
its never gonna be in official thing
g
its also got wrong libc vers

Nice. You're shooting answers like from a machine gun. *pow* *pow* *pow*

Why is System76 offering laptops with Nvidia if we all know the drivers are shit? Why only Intel processors? Don't AMD work better? I'm just wondering...
Geld [0/4💉] 🇵🇸 تحيا فلسطين
I'm going to buy a PC/Laptop soon and I definitely won't buy one with Intel and Nvidia
Geld [0/4💉] 🇵🇸 تحيا فلسطين
Well, I opened a blog post with "best laptops with linux" = They all use Intel

mrphyber
I never had problems with amd processors and graphics, always worked ootb
mrphyber
maybe the author of the page is an Intel fan
mrphyber
you have to consider the personal preference, so it is difficult to find objective informations
mrphyber
I would search benchmarks and such things, they are very objective
mrphyber
I'm going to buy a PC/Laptop soon and I definitely won't buy one with Intel and Nvidia
I'm thinking now that I don't know if fbsd supports dual graphics

I'm thinking now that I don't know if fbsd supports dual graphics
afaik....it does.....for optimus card.....theres a forum on it for some time....it also depends on luck+++ to make it work
mrphyber
afaik....it does.....for optimus card.....theres a forum on it for some time....it also depends on luck+++ to make it work
if it is based on the level of luck I wouldn't buy a laptop with hybrid graphics, I would have to turn off one of the two cards
mrphyber
so I would buy a laptop with intel processor and graphics or amd apu
Anonymous
its better to buy one with dedicated processor...intel or amd or nvidia...to your preferences....hybrid is stil a no-go

I would like to also share this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardus_(operating_system) Apparently it's a Turkish Government's Linux that they created to mainly replace Windows & Microsoft Office. It's based on Debian and has Monolithic Kernel. So it's a Linux, with Monolithic kernel like FreeBSD (?) so it's a Linux and BSD in one? What's nice is that... drums It's still being developed (so it's not like they did it once, and then just forgot about it) Current release from 23 November 2019. Ps: Are the links that I posted interesting/ok or should I share links that are only FreeBSD related?
g
how can i get my package in the ports tree
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
The Russian Astra Linux has also a monolithic kernel
Nameful
The Russian Astra Linux has also a monolithic kernel
Seeing as it is called Linux I don't see how the kernel couldn't be Monolithic
g
lol
