no, you should use memstick images for USB and ISO images for DVD

if you dd the ISO image to a USB it won't boot

Wdym? GPT dont need additional partitions. UEFI does

you just need to dd the image into a usb and boot it, uefi boot is there

you can choose in the installation process if you want gpt or mbr

A lot of software is not C, we also have some pythons, rust, rubies and pearls.

Porting means creating a port for the ports system so the sources can be compiled into the package. Generally you can just grab some port for compatible software and adjust it for the new one.
