yeah I took this one cause I saw it on nvidia website
Phil
I enter my card and it tells me 390
Phil
and it seems to work cause now I have the name of the nvidia card (before I thought that I'ven't seen it)
Andriy
check your /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/
Andriy
it should be totally empty
Phil
it's empty
Andriy
then run nvidia-xconfig
Andriy
it will generate config for Xorg
Phil
WARNING: Unable to locate/open X configuration file.
sh: pkg-config: not found

Andriy
ok, try startx
Phil
Andriy
did you use kldload nvidia or nvidia-modeset?
Phil
No but I booted with it
Andriy
did you add it to rc.conf?
Phil
Yes
Phil
Andriy
i think you should check with kldlod wich version is fits to you and leave only one in rc.conf
Phil
In default it's in low resolution and during the boot it's loading i915kms that resize it to 1920x1080
Phil
Andriy
wait, we talk about two cards on notebook?
Phil
Yes I think
Phil
Phil
How do I do that ?
Andriy
can you disable internal graphics in BIOS and leave only nvidia?
Phil
It's binary
Phil
Phil
@Jharked999 chill relax

Having two hard drives, one with freebsd installed and another one with debian installed, I'm facing this situation:
Selecting the freebsd one in bios to boot works.
Selecting the debian one doesn't boot.
Grub is installed in the debian hdd. Do I need to install it too in freebsd in order to be able to boot the linoze os?

𝔸𝕟𝕕𝕣𝕚𝕪 EFI boot. In BIOS both fast-boot and secure-boot are disabled.
This is more a linux side question I think. I've spent a couple of hours trying to get it working, but only FreeBSD boots

could you please text me the steps. I had done triple boot with GhostBSD and was succesful, but FuryBSD, I could not find any ways in partition Scheme, by default it takes the entire hard disk. Please advise how to bypass FuryBSD taking the entire harddisk

And limit it only to a particular drive

Hey do you think it's possible to use dm-crypt through the kernel module linux ? https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/linuxemu-lbc-install.html
Phil
That way I could be able to open my backup disk

I used Debian for years, but I'd probably just use Artix or NixOS these days...

Hey, do you know if it's possible to do an internship as student at FreeBSD, during September to January ? Cause I saw this the Google summer of code https://www.freebsd.org/projects/summerofcode.html , but is it only during the summer ? Or there is another way to do internship for FreeBSD ?

I want to connect to a nginx jail, from outside. So I'm reading posible solutions. One of them is ngrok, and the other one is servio. Does anyone could give me information about these, or perhaps, bring up another alternatives.
