we're gonna stick as close to FreeBSD as possible
we're primarily focused on exploit mitigations in HardenedBSD

CFI is an acronym for Control Flow Integrity
it's an exploit mitigation that helps prevent an attacker from causing the application to execute arbitrary code
non-Cross-DSO CFI simply means that CFI is applied to the application itself
Cross-DSO CFI means that CFI is also applied to the application's dependencies

Yeah, I saw someone get the newfs_hammer and newfs_hammer2 commands working properly on Linux, so hopefully before long we'll have those on more platforms
